We've launched Code E.D.!!

I'm super excited to announce the release to the public of our first game on itch.io "Code E.D".  I've been looking all over the Internet for a gaming community that is not afraid of new ideas and fully embraces small creators with open arms. Itch.io is such a place!

Code E.D. is the culmination of two years of my late nights and delighted mornings. I based this creation on a simple question: What if a game is played not with our hands but our heads? What would a gameplay feel like if you could chase down every single one of your enemies without having to run after each and every one of them? What if multiple puzzles can be solved by a single solution? Wouldn't it be nice for someone to actually learn how to do that while having fun cracking the game? Code E.D. is the first of such an experiment that I hope to continue. You'll learn how to move a robot to solve the puzzles not by controlling it, but by teaching it to do so.

I was foolishly convinced that all the existing popular game engines in the market today wouldn't be able to deliver my vision of the game, so I audaciously decided to start a brand new one for my own purposes. Technically speaking, I needed an engine that allows me to write my gameplay completely in Lua while at the same time exposing all the scripting mechanics to the user while the game is still running. Or to put it simply, this engine must allow a running game to be modified by the user as they're playing it! This turns out to be a very interesting exercise; one that at times blurs the line between the creator of the game and their player.

Since Code E.D. is still an experimentation (but one I believe you would greatly enjoy), I left it up to you to decide how much it's worth your time. More important than your payment though is your feedback. I'd like to know if a puzzle coding game like this is a good idea and if not, what genre you think might be worth a shot. Drop me a line!
